These Cocoa Brownies are:
Rich and fudgy
loaded with drippy chocolate chips
crispy and crackly on top
completely from scratch
Used in this recipe:
Ingredients for this recipe:
1 cup Flour
1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/2 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
3/4 cup Unsalted Butter (1 1/2 sticks)
3 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
1 cup Granulated Sugar
3 Eggs plus 1 Yolk
1/2 cup Chocolate Chips (I used mini)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350*F . Line a 9x9-inch baking pan with parchment paper. Lightly spray with non-stick spray and set aside.
In a saucepan melt 3/4 cup butter and 1/2 cup sugar. (mixture should not come to a boil or be HOT) Remove from heat and stir in 3 tablespoons vegetable oil.
In a separate bowl whisk together 3 eggs, 1 yolk, and remaining sugar. (1/2 cup)
Slowly, (constantly whisking) combine the butter into the egg mixture.
5. Toss in 1 cup flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 cup cocoa powder and mix until combined. Stir in 1/2 cup chocolate chips.(I used mini chocolate chips)
6. Slowly pour batter onto prepared pan.
7. Bake for 28- 30 minutes or until middle is barely wiggly. Completely cool before slicing.
